Polis is a small picturesque town built on the ruins of the ancient town of Marion. In the very heart of the town is the picturesque square where visitors from around the world gather in the cafes and traditional Cypriot tavernas. Here you can wander through the village lanes discovering hidden treasures within the hub of village shops or just while the days away enjoying the relaxed pace of life. The town is nestled within pine-clad hills overlooking citrus orchards and olive groves across to the pristine Chrysochou Bay.
To the west of Polis is the bustling little fishing port of Latchi where you can sample fresh catch of the day in one of the popular seaside Tavernas. Latchi is perfectly set around a horseshoe shaped harbour where you will find vividly coloured fishing boats jostling for space along the wooden jetties. The Latchi of today, a sought after tourist destination, evolved from humble beginnings as a fishing village and where sponge divers would flock to pluck sea sponges from the crystal fathoms below.
The long sandy beach that stretches for 2 kms between Polis and Latchi is a popular haven for sun and sea worshippers in the summertime.
